BJP's IT cell gets award for corporate excellence(Old Re-Post)

BJP's IT cell gets award for corporate excellence

New Delhi (PTI): Political parties may appear to be a long way off from corporate excellence. But BJP's attempt to marry the two seems to have paid off as it its IT wing has won the CIO 100 enterprise excellence award for this year.

"Practical innovation has always been the priority area of the party. This award vindicates BJP's policy of keeping pace with technology for the benefit of party workers and also for the greater interest of the society we serve," party spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy said..

The Information Technology cell of the party has been selected as one among the top 100 organisations in the country by the international CIO (Chief Information Officer) magazine, the world's leading journal of IT decision makers, for its "ultimate mark of enterprise excellence."

The other organisations in the country to share the honour with BJP are Mahindra and Mahindra, HCL, L&T, KPMG, Cognizant and Wipro.

"BJP as an organisation was always ahead of its competitors in the use of IT. In 1996, it became the first political party in India to have its own website. The party's automation journey has now been institutionalised by party leadership," party's IT cell chief Pradyut Bora said.

The party offices today are connected with the Unified Communication System(UC). The system allows a sender to send a piece of communication in the desired format (email, fax, SMS, voice) and the same choice rests with the receiver too, he added.

Message from Chandrakanth

I'am glad to let you know that BJP Karnataka IT Cell recently organized various activities in North Karnataka region to provide relief for the people affected due to severe floods and heavy rains. This was perhaps the worst floods that the state had witnessed for a long time. An estimated 20,000 crore rupees has been lost in this nature's havoc. As part of the relief operations, several members of BJP Karnataka IT Cell pooled in their personal money, procured the required relief items and distributed them in those villages personally. A few villages which were badly damaged and which required immediate help were identified by our team. Then a team of members from BJP Karnataka IT Cell visited those places on their own and personally handed over the relief materials to the affected and needy people. The local BJP leaders in those regions provided great support, guidance and encouragement for us to successfully accomplish our activities. Details of this entire event is attached for your reference. The best part of this event is that we have personally distributed the material to the people on our own thus eliminating the apprehensions on the routing of material through other channels like CMs relief fund etc.. for which many had their own doubts whether the amount raised will be properly utilitized or not. Our way of relief work has ensured that the relief materials reach the affected people directly thus bypassing all other formalities.
I thank all those members who made monetary contributions for this noble cause. I also thank the team which visited the three affected districts Raichur, Bagalkot and Belgaum for distribution of relief material. Last but not the least, I thank all the other members for their moral support and their faith in IT Cell which helped us in successfully organizing this activity.

Thanks,
Chandrakanth

BJP’s IT cell sensitising people on the need to vote

Thrust is on party’s ‘Infrastructure

Vision’

Mysore: The low turnout in Bangalore urban areas has forced the Bharatiya Janata Party to do change its campaigning style in Mysore and the party has gone all out to woo the educated class, intellectuals and the IT professionals.

Stung by the low turnout in urban areas of Bangalore which is perceived to be a blow to the BJP’s chances, the party managers decided to adopt an aggressive style and is going on an over-drive by hitting the road in the posh areas of Jayalakshmipuram, Gokulam and surrounding areas with members the BJP’s IT cell launching a door-to-door campaign.

About 25 professionals from the BJP’s “IT Cell”, headed by NRI Janardhanswamy, also party’s candidate from Chitradurga Lok Sabha constituency which went to polls on April 23, are working in Mysore to bring the educated class to the polling booth. “We want to remove the disdain that the IT professionals and educated intellectual non-voters have towards elections and encourage them to exercise their franchise in larger numbers,” said M.A. Mohan, BJP’s media coordinator for Mysore region.

“The objective is also to showcase the BJP’s IT-friendly policies and underline that BJP is a party which keeps pace with changing technology and is the best for India’s IT brigade,” he added.

Not surprisingly, the thrust of the new campaign is on the “Infrastructure Vision” of the BJP which was has been uploaded on its official website and the details are given to potential voters.
